REPAIRS

I ONLY REPAIR FERRANTI CLOCKS (or clocks with Ferranti mechs. inc. Vitascopes) and Slave clock mechanisms of all makes

My time for repairs is very limited so at times I can have a long waiting list - currently AUGUST 2024

Overhaul prices start at: £160 - Complete clock

£100 - just the mechanism

..

Please contact me for an estimate for your clock repairs@electroclock.co.uk

I'm based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

I can give a proper quote when i have examined the clock and you will have the choice on how to proceed

I normally fit approx 2 metres of thin white cable for a wall clock - if you want anything different please specify that. If you prefer braided cable in Burgundy or antique bronze is available at an £4.50 per metre. For mantel clocks a 2m Braided cable in Burgundy or antique Bronze is available at an additional £9

It is very helpful when contacting me if you could send a picture by email of the clock and mechanism or it's cover for me to advise on restoration.

Where I do the full overhaul I can offer a 1 year guarantee against failure due to incorrect workmanship

I can normally return the clock within 4 weeks - during busy periods it may be slightly longer

..

 An overhaul involves: -

Strip down and clean the movement

Check operation and correct wear of parts

Check and correct any internal wiring

Reassemble, oil and check operation

Test run

Fit replacement cable

Clean and polish case where appropriate

Please Note:

I don’t repair Ferranti striking clocks - although they are Ferranti badged they have a Smith’s mechanism and I don’t have the parts available to repair the motors. I don't repair Smiths or other clocks and I do not have the leads to connect to the mains (please search the internet for what you want). Also, I am not able to recommend anyone to repair other clocks - please do an internet search

Return Postage and Packing will be in addition to the above

Sending the clock to me

* I recommend Royal Mail - I can go to the main sorting office to pick up the parcel
* Pack the clock well with bubble wrap to protect it and use a large box - have at least 6 inches between the glass and outside of box (or remove the glass if possible)
* Please include you name and address on a piece of paper, or print out of email, inside the box with the clock
* Return P&P - I return via Royal Mail or Evri depending on other parcels going out
